Whoa! Someone was frustrated with their computer

September 24, 2008 by Tricia

Wordless Wednesday

Have you ever become so frustrated with your computer that you’ve thought of doing something like this? Or perhaps throwing your monitor to the ground?

I once lost the contents of my hard drive due to a power surge (and yes we had a surge protector on the computer, but it failed) and I felt like doing something like this!

I can’t imagine how much force you’d need to shove a keyboard through a monitor though. Wow.

Get that Escape button!

April 23, 2008 by Tricia

Wordless Wednesday

Escape is escaping!

I think Ctrl’s losing control!

I haven’t been writing in this blog as much as I should. Surprisingly I’m spending all my time, it seems, trying to pick out new themes for few of my sites. Did you know that the more you download and test out the harder it gets to pick just one? Yeah … it’s true.

Well .. at least with all this theme testing I’ll have some great themes to tell you guys about just as soon as I get around to telling you about them.

Google sites – coming soon

March 1, 2008 by Tricia

I don’t think that there’s much that Google doesn’t have it’s hand in these days.

The latest news is that we’ll soon be able to create websites on Google. The sites will run on Google servers and I imagine will be fairly easy to use for non-techies. By that I mean you won’t have to know much if any code to create a website of your own within a matter of minutes!

Here’s a news story I found that discusses Google’s latest step into the world of website creation:

Avot mV allows you to watch videos on your mobile phone in near real time

December 1, 2007 by Tricia

If you have a mobile phone that has a mobile browser and supports video streaming you might be interested in visiting the Avotmv.com website.

Avot Media has developed a system whereby mobile phone users can watch video in near real time streaming.

If you’ve ever watched a video using your mobile phone I’m sure you’ve noticed that with some services you have a limited video selection and that the quality of the video display is quite poor. This is not the case with Avot mV. They’ve created an innovative mobile video solution that ensures that you’ll be able to enjoy video on your mobile device and that it will be of high quality.

Using Avot mV you’ll be able to watch virtually anything you want on your mobile phone.

If you go to the Avot Media
Corporate Site you’ll be able to watch demo’s of Avot mV. You’ll also be able to download a free copy of Avot mV from their Product site. You can download the program onto your PC or visit the site using your mobile browser and download Avot mV directly to your mobile device.

Once Avot mV has been installed on your mobile device you’ll be able to access any web-based video sharing sites, and you’ll also be able to use Avot mV’s content based search capabilities to find videos suited to your personal preferences.

The best thing about Avot mV is that once you’ve selected a video on the internet that you’d like to view on your mobile phone the Avot mV software can transfer the video to your device quickly. In fact Avot mV is much quicker than earlier mobile video solutions. Playback will occur in near real time which means that you should not experience video delays.

If you want to download a number of videos at once you can organize a play list so that you can watch your videos on the go. You’ll be able to create as many play lists as you like and watch what you want when you want to watch it.

You can learn more about Avot mV and all of it’s features at the Avot mV website or read more about the program and upcoming product news at the Avot Media Blog. You’ll be enjoying lots of videos on your mobile device soon I’m sure.

Google Gears allows internet users to take web based aps offline

June 10, 2007 by Tricia

I’m looking forward to Google Gears. It’s a new product that will be coming out shortly that’s been developed by Google that will allow internet users to take there normally web only applications offline.

This will be wonderful for those who are still using dial up connections to connect to the internet and perhaps their blogging platform.

Personally, I’ve been quite frustrated at times when I’ve been trying to work on one of my blogs and my server has gone down or my internet connection (cable) is out or acting up. It’s very hard to write posts or write draft articles on WordPress when you can’t connect to your WP dashboard!

Hopefully Google Gears will work with WP and other blogging platforms too.

Microsoft Touch Screen

June 9, 2007 by Tricia

Bill Gates demonstrates Microsoft’s Touch Screen

I know I’m a few days late with this news but I absolutely love the idea of Microsoft’s new touch screen product. You’ve seen the technology to some extent in restaurants where waiters and waitresses can simply touch a screen to select a menu item and place the customers order.

Now this type of technology, greatly enhanced, will be coming to our homes in the near future. I’m sure the touch screen will be out of many peoples budges in the beginning but as it grows more popular I’m certain that many people will want to have and use this new tech product.

Use Movavi Video Converter to convert your video files

May 25, 2007 by Tricia

If you enjoy making your own videos whether it’s with your camera phone, your digital camera, a digital camcorder or a tape based recorder you know that each piece of equipment might save your video or movie files in a different format. I know that’s the case between my cell phone camera/video recorder and my digital camera video recorder! Same thing if you are trying to convert DVD or VHS files too.

Wouldn’t it be great if there was a software program that you could use that would easily convert all the different video formats easily and quickly? Well there is! It’s called the Movavi video converter. It’s a powerful software program that lets you convert video files to different formats in minutes.

You can use the Video Converter to convert any video format, and also use it to rip DVDs. With this program you can save the video files that you’ve made onto DVDs, Ipods, Zune, PSP, PDA’s and cellphones.

You can use the Video Converter program to convert between any of the following formats: VCD, SVCD, H.263, H.264, RM, WAV, MP3, FLV, AVI, DivX, XviD, MP4, Sony PSP, Apple iPod, DVD, VOB, IFO, MPEG 1,2,4, WMV, ASF, 3GP, 3GP2, and MOV file formats. I think that covers just about all of the most commonly used video formats out there!

You can also use the Video Converter to merge separate video files into one video file, or convert any video file segment. The software also allows you to extract audio and frames from your movie.

The software supports multipleprocessors and is Vista compatible.

The video converter software program only costs $29.95 if you are purchasing it for personal use. As far as I’m concerned a program that does as much as this one does is well worth that price. Check it out!

Titanic Museum

May 21, 2007 by Tricia

I was just reading on MSNBC that there’s a new museum called the Titanic Museum in Branson Missouri. This new museum is expected to increase tourism in Branson, to the point that they are expecting well over 7 million visitors this year.

The museum is the worlds largest Titanic Museum and considering that the Titanic was probably the most technologically advanced ship of it’s kind in it’s time I’m sure technology buffs will be heading to the museum to check out the 100 foot tall building built to resemble the actual Titanic.

The entrance is through a mock iceberg tip that juts out of the ship’s side. Inside, visitors take a 90-minute walk past more than 400 artifacts and reconstructions of the ship and the life stories of many of its passengers.

Check it out if you are ever in Branson!

Trying to plan our vacation

May 16, 2007 by Tricia

Chris and I have been trying to decide where to go for a summer vacation.

In fact, when Chris goes to work this morning he’s going to check on how much vacation time is available to him and if he can he’ll take off at least one week in July.

I used to go on traveling road trips with my parents. Even Chris came along for one of them when we took my parents out East in ’99. We’ve actually been thinking of taking a trip to the Outer Banks in Carolina.

I’ve actually been to almost every State but I don’t believe I’ve ever been to Carolina. That’s one of the reasons we’d like to go there. Have you been there? Did you enjoy your vacation?
